Ichi, an excellent Creative Agency in Soho, London asked me to come up with two murals to liven up their office space. The general consensus was that black and white line work, intense detail and the addition of two patches of spot colour was the way to go, the rest being up to me. I took, as inspiration, the staggering allegorical compositions of Hieronymus Bosch and the dark universes created by Charles Burns, alongside two creative tenets from ichi's Executive Creative Director, Neill Furmston; 'Story Is King' and 'Clever Not Complicated'. I chose to base each mural around its own tenet and feature the ichi's mascot/spokesdemon Oni rampaging through the make-belive lands i create.

The works took about a week each and were created entirely digitally making massive 300dpi images that threatened to destroy my mac! A special credit must go to FRENDEN whose indispensable photoshop brush tool presets should be owned by everyone (http://frenden.com/post/30263876416/photoshopinker), I used them from the sketching (blue pencil) to the final inking (organic inker brush) and never ceased to be impressed by the realistic brush results.
